How does the process work?
-
Once you’ve placed your order, we’ll email you with confirmation and the date your piece will be complete. We’ll provide production updates along the way, and then approximately 1 week before your completion date, we’ll reach out to set up a 3 hour delivery window. We understand life’s busy, and we try to be as accommodating as we can.
-
Can I cancel or change my order?
-
For orders placed online, customers have 14 days from the date of purchase to cancel or change an order. In the event of a cancellation, we provide a full refund. If the order is changed, we apply the funds toward the new item and then collect/refund the difference.
-
Where do you deliver to?
-
Currently we deliver to VA, DC, MD, PA, NY & NJ. To ensure quality & the best experience, we don’t outsource delivery, thus the limitation. We are expanding our delivery range as quickly as we can.
-
What if I’m outside the delivery range? Can you ship to areas where you don’t deliver?
-
Yes, we ship our products as well. We build custom crates to ensure product arrives safely. Reach out to us via the Contact form and we can provide a freight quote.
Or we have had some customers drive to us to pick up pieces – if that’s an option we’ll of course help load you up and show you any assembly instructions you need to know.
-
Can you deliver faster than 12 weeks?
-
We want to make sure we uphold commitments to existing customers, so that's priority. But at times we're able to expedite an order, it’s definitely worth dropping us a line on the Contact page and asking.
-
Is assembly required?
-
Our delivery service is white glove, we take care of any assembly. (Our dining tables deliver in two pieces, our coffee tables are delivered fully assembled.)
-
Do you accept returns?
-
We guarantee the quality of our work and if our products fail because the craftsmanship doesn’t hold up, we will repair or replace your piece free of charge. Because our pieces are custom-made to the exact specs of an individual customer, we aren’t able to accept returns if customers have a change of heart.
-
What if the color is different than I expected?
-
We recommend ordering a sample, so you can see the color in your home. By nature of the material we work with, color variations are to be expected. If the color is different because of a natural variation in the wood, we cannot accept a return. If we did something wrong during the staining process (i.e. stained it the wrong color), of course we will make that right.
-
What type of finish is used to protect the wood?
-
We use one of several different finishes depending on the piece & the way it will be used.
-
How will the wood change over time?
-
Over time, as the wood acclimates to its new environment, expect to see slight changes in the wood. Small splits and slight warping are natural and inherent to the materials we use. Stain colors also tend to deepen and darken slightly over time.
-
Do you fill holes and cracks in the wood?
-
Yes, we fill any large splits, holes or notches with an epoxy finish. This preserves the look of the natural wood but makes for easier cleaning & maintenance.
-
Can we do extensions on dining tables?
-
Yes we can. Typically we charge $1600 depending on the size. Give us a call or drop us a line through Contact Us and we can talk through options.
-
What’s the best way to care for the table?
-
Wipe up any spills, use coasters under your glasses and don’t put very hot surfaces on the table. Apply the wood conditioner on a yearly basis. Free of charge, we supply all customers with a care & maintenance kit that has a daily cleaner, a wood conditioner and our Care & Maintenance instructions.
-
What type of finish is used to protect the wood?
-
We use a hard wax oil finish to protect our tables. We have found that, over the long-term, these hold up better than poly and varnish finishes. They also have a natural, matte look that we really like.
-
Will the table show nicks and dings?
-
Over time, as the table experiences normal wear and tear, you may see some nicks and dings in the tabletop.
-
Is it possible that small splits will develop over time?
-
Over time, as the wood acclimates to its new environment, expect to see slight changes in the wood. Small splits and slight warping are natural and inherent to the materials we use. Stain colors also tend to deepen and darken slightly over time.
-
Do you do custom work?
-
For the product styles you see on the website, we can offer a lot of customization. Most of these options are accessible through the interface on the product pages of the website. If you’d like to further customize one of these pieces, drop us a line through Contact Us and let’s talk about it.
If you have a piece in mind that isn’t shown on our website, we may be able to take on a custom project, depending on the nature of the project and on our current workload. Shoot us a note through the Contact page and let’s discuss.
-
I have some wood, can you build me a piece from it?
-
Possibly. We’ve done it before and we love when it works out. We have high standards for wood though, and we only do it if the wood passes those standards. To manage expectations - often in these situations, the wood doesn’t meet our quality spec and so we can’t proceed. It’s definitely worth dropping us a line through Contact Us so we can talk about it.
