Ambrosia Maple, salvaged from Camp Small - the City of Baltimore's tree salvage program.
We typically only source oak, ash + walnut....but as I was searching through the stacks of trees at Camp Small, something about this maple tree compelled me to break the rules.... Sure enough, when we milled it, we found gold inside. Better yet, Ambrosia.
Ambrosia maple is maybe the most coveted type of maple. The name refers to the Ambrosia beetle, which made it's way into this tree. The beetle leaves small holes where it enters the wood, and a beautiful streak along the path it bored through.
This piece is available while supplies last, then gone for good.
